Lisbon is a vibrant and lively city with a rich and diverse culinary culture. From traditional Portuguese gastronomy to international cuisine, there is something for everyone’s taste in the city.
And when it comes to fast food, Lisbon’s hamburgers don’t disappoint. With a wide variety of options, from classic American burgers to gourmet options, it’s easy to understand why Lisbon’s burger joints are so popular.
In this text, we will present the 7 best burger restaurants in Lisbon, where you can try some of the best burgers in town and enjoy a unique culinary experience.
If you’re a burger fan like me and are looking for new places to try, this is a list you can’t miss. So, are you ready to enjoy? Let’s get started!
Ground Burger
Ground Burger in Lisbon is one of the best places to try burgers in the city (and is my favourite). With a wide variety of meat, bread, cheese and sauce options, it is easy to understand why this is one of the most popular places to eat hamburgers in Lisbon. In addition, Ground Burger offers an incredible selection of drinks, including craft beers and house-made soft drinks, making it a perfect destination for lunch or dinner.
The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at Ground Burger is its cosy, relaxed atmosphere. With décor inspired by classic American burger joints, this is the perfect place to relax with friends or family. And with friendly and attentive staff, you’ll feel welcome from the moment you enter.
When it comes to food, Ground Burger does not disappoint. With a wide variety of burger options, including beef, chicken and vegetarian, there is something for every taste.
When it comes to drinks, Ground Burger leaves nothing to be desired. They have a wide selection of beers, with over 100 different labels from various countries around the world. In addition, they offer wines, ciders and fresh juices, all served in elegant and sophisticated glasses.
I recommend the Bacon Cheese, which comprises a burger made with 100% Angus beef (150g), cheddar, crispy smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion and smoked BBQ sauce. To complement the meal, I suggest the SCHNEIDER WEISSE TAP 7, a high quality, flawless German Weissbier. This combination of flavours and textures is a real flavour explosion and definitely worth a try.

USAxe Club
USAxe Club is a burger joint located at LX Factory in Lisbon, and aims to bring the best of American cuisine to the city. In addition, the place is one of the pet friendly restaurants in Lisbon, which makes it even more welcoming and perfect for gathering with friends or family, including the four-legged ones. USAxe Club is much more than just a hamburger restaurant, as there is also a fun activity available: axe throwing.
From the moment you enter, you can feel the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of the place, which is perfect for gathering with friends or family for an informal and tasty meal.
USAxe Club’s speciality is undoubtedly its burgers. They are made with high quality ingredients and prepared with great care to ensure maximum taste and texture. The menu is diverse and offers options for all tastes. I super recommend the LX Bacon Burger, which are 2 smash burgers with crispy bacon, BBQ, lettuce and tomato, accompanied by potatoes with a wonderful rosé sauce.
To accompany your burger with a standout drink, I recommend the Jack Honey Orange. This drink is made with the perfect combination of Jack Daniel’s Honey and orange juice, perhaps with a few other secret ingredients. Served chilled in a stylish glass, it will perfectly complement your burger. I’m suspect to speak, as I love Jack Daniel’s Honey even neat and off ice, but I believe many who try this drink will also join the fan club.
In addition to burgers, USAxe Club also offers a wide variety of side dishes, including home fries, nachos, starters and salads. They also have a selection of traditionally American drinks, including beers like Budweiser, soft drinks and drinks made with Jack Daniels Whisky. And, to complement the meal, we suggest the incredible Oreo and Nutella flavoured milkshakes, for example.

Dallas Burger Joint
The Dallas Burger Joint is located in a central area of Lisbon, exactly between Cais do Sodré and Chiado, which makes it easy for visitors to get there by public transport or by car.
It is also ideal for those looking for a lively dining experience as they are located in a busy area with many bars and restaurants around. After enjoying a delicious burger and a cold drink, customers can continue the evening exploring Lisbon’s nightlife scene on the famous Pink Street or in Bairro Alto.
The atmosphere at Dallas Burger Joint is relaxed and welcoming, with decor inspired by the American style of the 1950s and 1960s. They also offer a pet friendly environment, where you can enjoy a delicious burger with your four-legged best friend. I myself have taken my dog, Basquiat, and they were very careful to put a container of water for him.
Another amazing aspect of the Dallas atmosphere was the playlist of music, which included the best Hip Hop and R&B. I even wrote down some of the songs they played, some I already knew and others I researched the lyrics to find them later. I was so impressed that I created a playlist on Spotify based on the songs I heard on that unforgettable day. Here is the link to my playlist: https://linkfr.ee/d3aez-3
The menu at Dallas Burger Joint is vast and includes a variety of burger options, from the classic cheeseburger to bolder options. In addition, they also offer vegetarian options.
As I always do, I would like to share my recommendation for those visiting the Dallas Burger Joint. For my meal, I chose the Bacon Cheese Burger, which comes with a delicious combination of prime beef, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, caramelised red onion, pickles, lettuce and barbecue sauce. Furthermore, to accompany it, I opted for a drink that was also a dessert, the Boozy Irish Whiskey. This drink is an amazing blend of whisky, vanilla ice cream, espresso, Bailey’s, chocolate cream, peanuts and Oreo, which together take your dining experience to another level.

A Cultura do Hambúrguer
Cultura do Hambúrguer is situated in the famous Alto district in Lisbon, Portugal. This area is known for its vibrant nightlife and cultural scene, making it a perfect location for a relaxed and lively dinner party. In addition, Bairro Alto is easily accessible by public transport, making it a convenient option for visitors and locals alike. The hauburgueria’s central location, combined with its menu of high-quality burgers, make it a popular choice among Lisbon locals and tourists looking to experience the city’s culinary culture.
Cultura do Hambúrguer is one of the most popular burger joints in Lisbon, known for its creative recipes and high quality ingredients. The restaurant prides itself on offering a wide variety of burger options, most notably its custom burgers, which allow customers to choose each ingredient to create their own perfect sandwich.
For a delicious meal, I recommend the Hamburguer LX. The burger is made with 100 per cent beef and is topped with creamy gorgonzola, spicy salami, fried red onion, watercress, tomato and garlic mayonnaise. It is a perfect combination of flavours that will satisfy even the most demanding palates. In addition, it is served with fried potato shells or chips, and accompanied by a homemade mayonnaise. To drink, you can choose from a wide selection of beers, but I suggest a 500ml glass of Heineken from the spout to complement your meal.

Honorato Hamburgueres Artesanais
This hamburgueria has several locations in Lisbon, but as we are talking about experiences, I will mention the one in the Chiado neighbourhood in Lisbon, which is a real work of art. Besides its delicious handmade hamburgers, the place is marked by the incredible urban art of the famous Portuguese artist Vhils.
The Honorato’s team has been striving to offer a unique dining experience to its customers, combining fresh, high quality ingredients with the name that is only growing here in the city. The result is a pleasant and welcoming place, ideal for an informal dinner with friends or a meal with the family.
With a wide selection of artisanal burgers, Honorato has options for all tastes. From the classic beef burger, to vegetarian option, each option is prepared with care and attention to detail. And to go with it, you can choose between options of fries, salad or crisps, as well as a wide selection of drinks, including beers, soft drinks, juices, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, wines and water.
Here I recommend on the menu the Falcão is an amazing choice. In addition to the burger and bun, it comes stuffed with delicious ingredients such as watercress, tomato, bacon, onion and cheddar, which are perfect to make your mouth salivate. And to complement your meal, I recommend the non-alcoholic Drink sem álcool Berry Good, which is a refreshing blend of limes, mint, red berries, cranberry juice and fresh cranberry. Ideal for those looking for something light and healthy.
Address: They are in various locations in Lisbon such as Chiado, Telheiras, Belém, Saldanha, among others. It is worth checking the addresses on the website below.

Santo Graal Burger & Grill
I wanted to get to know Santo Graal when I learned that the burger joint was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil and brought with it culinary influences from various countries such as Uruguay and Germany. It was founded by Vini Lisboa, a former business teacher and sales executive who gave up his profession due to his passion for gastronomy.
Santo Graal is already present in some Lisbon neighbourhoods, such as Campo de Ourique, Saldanha and Ajuda, and is an option not to be missed by those who want to experience unique and unforgettable flavours, also because beer is a key ingredient in the confection of the hamburgers, from the jelly to the barbecue sauce made with a reduction of the beverage.
The atmosphere is cosy, with a decoration reminiscent of a tavern, where the old knights used to have meals, with lots of wood, leather and yellow lights. In addition, the staff is friendly and professional, ensuring customers have a pleasant and memorable experience.
My experience was wonderful, as when I went it was during the Oktoberfest season. I won a prize at the time for every glass of Franziskaner Weissbier I drank. This beer which, coincidentally, is my favourite beer. I got to know this Weiss through my father, who brought it as a souvenir for me when he visited Germany.
My choice for dinner was the Hamburguer Salomão, consisting of a generous portion of beef, topped with cheddar, onions browned in butter, crispy bacon, barbecue sauce made with stout beer and purple lettuce. The rustic potatoes seasoned with sweet paprika were perfect as a side dish. And to drink, I suggest trying a mug of Franziskaner Weissbier, served at the ideal temperature.

Green Burger
If you are looking for a place to eat an amazing burger and at the same time make a healthy choice, you have to visit Green Burger in Lisbon.
From what I asked the person who attended me there, the owners are also Brazilians and started at the beginning of 2020, only for delivery. Now, they have a super cosy space in Praça da Alegria, which is one of the most emblematic and lively places in the city. The main attraction of the house are the vegan burgers, but don’t worry, they also have more traditional options with BIO meats, to suit all tastes.
The Green Burger, which gives the house its name, is made from plants and I tried my wife’s, and it really does taste amazing and its structure looks just like a juicy meat, but it’s not. From what I’ve heard, they are careful about their choice of organic meats and vegetables, offering rich, low-fat proteins.
What I liked most is that they offer a Menu option (for Brazilians, that’s what they call here in Portugal when it’s a combo). The menu consists of a choice of a burger + drink + dessert + espresso. That was fantastic.
I visited Green Burger yesterday, well recommended by a couple of friends, André and Andressa, who accompanied us. I tried the Classic Burger, but I want to highlight the Burger do Chef that André ordered. It was specially prepared and had a perfect combination for a refined palate: a 170g Green Burger standard steak, spinach-based bun, olive mayonnaise, Gouda cheese, rocket and sundried tomato, accompanied by crispy fries. I chose a Heineken to go with it. For dessert, I recommend the house Vegan Brownie. At the end, we had an amazing espresso, smooth and pleasant to the palate. The four of us at the table agreed it was a great choice.
